EA's Earth and Beyond MMOG To Shut Down

Zonk writes "The announcement came down yesterday that Electronic Arts' space-based massively multiplayer online game Earth and Beyond is to close this September. There is a detailed official FAQ page regarding the transition to 'Sunset', including dates, content additions, and information about billing. I'd put it a little more strongly:

I don't buy MMOGs and I won't because of crap like this. When I pay NZ$100 for a game, I expect to be able to play it forever (given backwards compatibility created by the games community). *IF* I'd invested in this game I'd be asking for a refund for the original software from EA right now.
