Elon Musk's SpaceX Offers Low-Cost Rockets

HobbySpacer writes "The cover article of the latest issue of Aviation Week looks at SpaceX and how its Falcon line of rockets threatens to shake up the space launch industry. Founded by Elon Musk, who also started PayPal, SpaceX is developing the Falcon I (first flight this summer) and Falcon V (first flight in 2005) that will cost as little as 20-30% of what competitors like Orbital Sciences and Boeing charge for comparable vehicles."

    I'm at work and writing this on IE under Windows XP. Does anyone notice that the left side of the IE toolbar is a lot lighter than the right side? I think its intentional, but its done in such a way that it makes it look like the monitor is going bad. Man do I hate Windows.

      Well, I just took a screenshot and imported it into Photoshop and looked at the values of the pixels on each end. While the values on each end are slightly different, you'd never notice it. It's the same color all the way across (no gradient blur or anything.)

      Sounds like you do have a bad monitor. Next time, don't blame Windows on your crappy hardware, OK?

    This is a perfect example of why building web navigation in Flash is a horrible idea -- I'm on a T3 and it took literally a full minute for the nav bar to download.

    XHTML and CSS, they exist for a reason people!

      Flash itself can be pretty amazingly efficient. It can be used stupidly, but so can HTML. , anyone?

      it's normal. One neat trick is to pull the bed covers up over your head after farting so you and your girl can savor the smell of your pork and beans. This technique is known as the "dutch oven".
