iPod Game Creator, New Games Released

XGamerX writes "The iStory Creator is a freeware application used to allow anyone to create their very own custom interactive games for Apple's iPod. There are also a number of freely downloadable games to get you started. The text-based games play similarly to 'choose your own adventure' games." Amusingly, there's a game called 'XOPlay Rampage', referencing the commercially-sold iPod adventures that were previously featured on Slashdot, and in the game: "XOPlay has stolen your ideas and used them for their own greedy purposes. Show them who is boss!"

This is done via the iPod's notes interface. Basically the program just creates a higherarchy of notes representing your choose-your-own-adventure story, and uploads the notes to the iPod.

For anything much more complex than this, you'd probably have to install iPod linux and use that.

No, and it can't be either. The "iPod Game Creator" just creates a network of cross-linked text files, which means you can't store any state. See my previous comment on this subject (and its children) for more information

Huh? On Windows, it is as easy as:

Step 1: Plug iPod into FireWire or USB port.

Step 2: Copy folders onto iPod into the Notes folder.

    Done.
