MandrakeSoft Exits Bankruptcy
joestar writes "It's official now: the Court has approved Mandrakesoft's exit plan from the Chapter 11-like protection status. This seems to be the result of the recently announced profitability of the company, and means that Mandrakesoft is now fully back to normal activities. Great news for the Open Source community and Mandrake Linux users! All details are available in an online PR."

I suppose "declaration de cessation des paiements" translates (via Babelfish, of course) to "we're broke but we're still going to pay all our debts with magic money we pull out of our ass." Right?
The "protection from creditors" was "stop the harassing phone calls from people who are tired of waiting for you to pay them what you owe them." I see those commercials all the time. Why can't they just go away and forget about the money? Bastards!
And they renegotiate their liabilities by saying, "dear creditors, we would like to offer to pay everything we owe you." Right? I mean, they had to negotiate with the people they owed money to pay them off everything they owed (you wouldn't lie to me, would you?), because...well....they had to, because those nasty creditors suddenly demanded...uh....more money than they owed? Or something. But really, they're paying off all their debts.
GMAMFB. Your "clients" are thieves by proxy. Mandrake may have paid some of what they owed, but they still didn't pay what they owed. That's what bankruptcy is all about, even when it's a reorganization. Any attempts to make it seem like they paid off all of their debts are ridiculous. They may be paying off their "renegotiated debts," but that ain't what they borrowed.
