American Airlines Is Third Company To Share Data
crem_d_genes writes "American Airlines has become the third U.S. airline to admit sharing passenger records with the government. They were proceeded in admissions by Northwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways. At the heart of the matter is the implementation of the of U.S. Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) use of the provisions known as CAPPS II. Some privacy advocates have expressed strong dissent with this plan. Some concerns have even been brought up in Congress, though for different reasons. The Department of Homeland Security has a site entitled CAPPS II: Myths and Facts."
Proposition: the state needs more power in order to protect against terrorism caused by religious extremists.
Response: the terrorism of 9/11 is the direct cause of the adoption of a bronze-age cult of the paternalistic war-god; stepping back from this cult would do more to prevent religious terrorism than barcoding every citizen.
As an American, I'm pretty much disgusted by the way the United States is treating its visitors.
What we need is a more targeted effort. My solution? Ragheads and Mudslums can't fly. Problem solved.
The entire world is at war we these fuckers. Do they co-exist peacefully with anyone?
Did that French ban on Mudslum rags go through?
Generally speaking, I'm a fairly tolerant person. In this case, however, I have to go ahead and advocate the complete extermination of everyone who practices Islam.
The department of homeland security is an agency that was created, to provide an excuse for the American government to strengthen its' 'big brother' arm. Yes, it is important, no, it's the duty of a government to ensure that its' citizens are safe and protected, but this is an example of how that line is being over-stepped. What next, what other kind of records or information is the department of homeland security going to deem necessary to collect and analyze to prevent 'terrorism'? The wool is being pulled over our eyes, and the system is being setup right under our noses as we go about our daily lives and call it 'protection'. How much safer do any of you feel after September 11th? Or do you in fact, feel much more afraid for your lives every time you step onto a plane, walk onto a subway etc? It starts with small things, and snow balls, this is only a sign of what is to come, now it?s airline records, tomorrow it will be medical records from private practice doctors to see if anyone?s been treated for anthrax related complications systematically?and god knows what else.
That's why we should search ALL ARABS!! Granny in a wheelchair will not blow up the plane, arabs are more likely to. I think the paranoid and the politically correct should shut up, they caused this more than the Bush administration. How can I say that? 3 months before 9/11, the rule that said anyone paying in cash, anyone ordering last minute tickets, anyone without lugage, or any arab male doing any of these will not be allowed on the plane or searched more than the average passenger. The PC police said "that is racial profiling, you must stop" and now we know why those rules were in place. Now I (white,US citizen) will be searched, but Habib is let own without being searched because it may offend him. Also, the paranoid people who don't want the patriot act are also the same people complaining that Bush didn't do enough, yet when he tries to do more (patriot act), the paranoid go crazy. So, I don't care if you don't want to be searched, but if it means getting to my final destination, then they can do a full cavity search on me if they need to. Also, I had a friend that was on one of the planes that hit the world trade center, and fly from Boston to CA often, so fuck you.
Haha your wife is a spic.
