FTC Adopts New Rule For Sexually Explicit Spam

enforcer999 writes "As you know, the CAN SPAM ACT preempted many state laws that were tougher on spammers. For instance, many of the laws that were enacted by states included a requirement that sexually explicit SPAM be labeled as such. The FTC, in charge of adopting rules, came up with a new rule that will require sexually explicit SPAM to be labeled as such. Hmm? I think the states were already trying to do this before the Federal government preempted them. Anyway, I wonder if it will work?"

Don't moderate posts like that down, let the editors do their job, they have infinite mod points. Just concentrate on modding deserving posts up.

Why can't the editors mod 'deserving' posts up? I don't understand your argument.

The idea is that the editors just deal with sending to -1 the obvious crapfloods and trolls where there can be no serious disagreement as to their nature.

The editors will mod *that* crap down, but they won't mod down stuff they just don't agree with. That's the theory anyway. Similarly they don't make judgements on what is "good" but leave that up to user moderation.
