MIT Studies Software Development Processes

IsoQuantic writes "A new MIT study (pdf) looked at SW development processes around the world. One striking difference that the researchers found for U.S. developers is the relatively small use of specifications before development begins.     specifications are for people who are told what to.

    This really shouldn't be a suprise to anyone who reads slashdot. Every week or so we see a story about Company X exporting IT jobs to India. Where do you think they get their specs from?
