Spammer Sues SpamCop
wolfgang writes "Just wanted to send you word that notorious spammer Scott Richter, President of Email marketing firm OptinRealBig.com, has filed suit against Ironport, which runs anti-spam site Spamcop. According to Richter, Spamcop's initiatives have damaged the reputation of his company. Richter filed for $1 million in damages. A similar suit one year ago, filed by Eddy Marin and his Florida-based Emarketersamerica.org against Spamhaus, was thrown out of court last October." We've mentioned Richter before.
If you don't know, don't use either.
If you don't know how to handle a weapon, you're a danger, to both yourself, and the general public.
(Properly used/maintained weapons shouldn't have functionality issues)
Why not do what they do in Iraq and torture and humiliate prisoners of war, in contravention of the Geneva Convention?
They haven't put up FUD, they've put up proof...
They're not trying to create fear, uncertainty, or doubt concerning him. They're trying to remove any uncertainty that he's a spammer, by putting all of their research online.
SCO, meanwhile, has yet to offer any proof, save half-hearted measures that can scarcely purport to show anything, especially when one does not know which claims, if any, SCO will actually bring.
For a "copyright" suit, they've jettisoned a lot of the copyright-related stuff, in favor of contract claims, which might almost have merit if you chose to read them the way SCO does (and yet I find their reading of them excessively contorted, if not altogether wrong...)
SCO has obviously seen that their copyright claims have precious little merit, I just wonder why Darl doesn't know to back down from his bluff; IBM will NOT fail to call him on it, they sensed that it was a bluff long ago, and have consistantly outmaneuvered them in court.
looks like somebody with modpoints has gotten a good deal of sand into their vagina...
