Apple and Independent Developers

Corleone writes "We've seen a realization recently that Microsoft isn't standing still with Longhorn, and countering Longhorn has been pushed to the forefront. That is why I found the concept of Apple being the larger danger in Rhapsody in Yellow so ironic. The author skirts the scary question: would Apple porting their frameworks to Linux give them undue influence over the direction of the free operating system movement? This is after recent reports saying missing programs are the biggest thing holding Linux back on the desktop. Macromedia has interest in their tools on Linux, surely many others are too. This would seem to allow thousands of companies a simple path to the Linux market but with Apple as the gateway. If not Apple, what of Microsoft porting their engine?"

I'm so sick of worms and people looking at my edits in Word files. I want a trusted platform from Microsoft, and I'll gladly shell out a few hundred bucks for each Longhorn release until they get it right. Neither stinking linux hippies nor gay Apple lusers can change my mind.

I'm a bored, smelly nerd, with nothing better to do on a Saturday night than sit around and troll slashdot. Sometimes I also upload the goatse.cx picture to Wikipedia just to piss people off. I'm also gay, which is why I'm reading the Apple section.

Anyway, I'm going to go find some more porn to whack off to before I go to bed. I have a big day tomorrow volunteering for the Bush campaign.

For crying out loud, this blog is just a bunch of piecemeal old history sloshed together (as the writer was so sloshed). This extremely long-winded blog can be summed up in two statements. 1. Apple has really screwed up in the last five years... whine whine whine. 2. I don't really have a solution, or completely understand why Apple's marketshare is low, but here's what I've heard from other people in the industry about Apple's problems, albeit slightly skewed because it's just hearsay and I'm sloshed, whine whine whine.

Man, am I ever sick of hearing people whine about Apple (myself included). A lot of this blog is about things which happened a long, long time ago. Get over it. It's obvious that you have beef with Apple, and 95% of what you're saying is biased. Not unlike Netscape and Open Source zealots complaining to no end about Microsoft, or Microsoft complaining to no end about Linux, or the RIAA complaining about pirates, or, well, you get the picture...
