What's Being Done About Nuclear Security
KrisCowboy writes "Wired.com has an interesting article about Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham's speech about the defensive measures being taken at the Nuclear Energy warehouses. 'Atomic storehouses, vulnerable to terrorist attack, will be emptied of their radioactive loads,' he promises. Keeping in mind the recent Slashdot story about a
Hafnium bomb, more security measures are needed, and fast."

Microsoft is probably pushing for the data contract, so the fate of the world will rest in his hands once and for all.
You are about to give someone a piece of your mind, something which you can ill afford...
It is official; Netcraft confirms: CSLib is dying
/usr/cslib/bin and so on, CSLib went out of service and was taken over by a small Perl script. Now Perl is also dead, its corpse turned over to yet another charnel house.
One more crippling bombshell hit the already beleaguered CSLib community when Fnord confirmed that CSLib sourcing has dropped yet again, now down to less than a fraction of 1 percent of all logins. Coming on the heels of a recent Netcraft survey which plainly states that CSLib has lost more sourcers, this news serves to reinforce what we've known all along. CSLib is collapsing in complete disarray, as fittingly exemplified by falling dead during recent SEG projects.
You don't need to be in helpdesk to predict CSLib's future. The hand writing is on the wall: CSLib faces a bleak future. In fact there won't be any future at all for CSLib because CSLib is dying. Things are looking very bad for CSLib. As many of us are already aware, CSLib continues to lose market share. Red ink flows like a river of blood.
CSLMan is the most endangered of them all, having lost 100% of its core developers. The sudden and unpleasant departures of long time CSLib developers Alan Fnord and Andrew Fnordells only serve to underscore the point more clearly. There can no longer be any doubt: CSLib is dying.
Let's keep to the facts and look at the numbers.
CSLib leader Goldsmith states that there are 2 users of CSLib. How many users of Windows are there? Let's see. The number of CSLib versus Windows posts on the Wiki is roughly in ratio of 1 to 5. Therefore there are about 2*5 = 10 Windows users.
Due to the troubles of Liberator, Deletion of
All major surveys show that CSLib has steadily declined in market share. CSLib is very sick and its long term survival prospects are very dim. If CSLib is to survive at all it will be among Geeky dilettante dabblers. CSLib continues to decay. Nothing short of a miracle could save it at this point in time. For all practical purposes, CSLib is dead.
Fact: CSLib is dying

Bullshit.

I think security measure are a good idea, but personally, I'd rather see more emphasis on money and effort being spent on social justice for Islamic countries so militant Islamic fundamentalists don't have a wide support base to draw upon.
For instance, a lot of Islamic countries could do with better infrastructure and education as well as social justice. If they perhaps had fairer lives and better educations, then maybe they'd stop trying to kill us all. Yes gentlemen, we need more Islamic nerds. If you've learnt how to appraise arguements and have a good life, the appeal of killing yourself with a bomb strapped to your chest for religious ideas would probably be a lot less appealing.
Security is one thing, but causing peace would be much better. Perhaps it's not possible with some of the real lunatics, but there's plenty of things perhaps we could start with that are more important than metaphorical big fences and whistleblowers although I guess there is of course a place for these things.
I'm getting tired of everyone mocking a great tax-cutting president just because he doesn't pronounce 'nuclear' correctly.
I think it's very petty of you all. Here's a guy who stands up bravely to our nation's enemies, sends our troops and food and supplies to a beleaguered nation surrounded by mortal enemies, and cuts taxes to stimulate the economy; and all you can do is mock his legacy.
Admit it.... John F. Kennedy was a great president, even if he couldn't pronounce 'nuclear'.
