George Gilder on Telecommunications Policy

Codeine writes "The Testimony of Mr. George Gilder to the Telecommunications Policy: A Look Ahead hearing held by the US Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation strongly supports the idea [of] mandated 'open access' to the logical layers of the network, and it is embodied in a new legislative proposal by MCI, A Horizontal Leap Forward: Formulating a New Public Policy Framework Based on the Network Layers Model. The success of the layered model in the LAN environment, migrated to the WAN."

All I can say is that it's about time, as the founder of 3utilities myself and my colleagues have long been petitioning local and national government for a more open policy regarding this countries overly conservate telecommuniations networks.
As you can see, a more open approach will not only benefit us as a company, in terms of profit margins, but will directly benefit the consumer through even greater choice and cheaper prices.
The future is looking increasingly bright.

wow, just wow, I took at look at the predicted savings graphs at the parents site (just below the second paragraph).
And a more efficient telecommunications policy could have saved me enough money in the past 5 years to pay for a nice holiday abroad. Good luck in your campaign Mr Sandringham.
