Novell Sued Microsoft Through Caldera?

cheesedog writes "The intrigue increases: According to this article in the Salt Lake Tribune, the secret terms of the sale of DR-DOS to Caldera included the provision that Caldera would have to sue Microsoft (for Novell by proxy) over the OS and that they would have to do so without revealing Novell's hand in it. Did Novell indirectly create a monster? Caldera's 300 million winnings against Microsoft are now being used to fund lawsuits against Linux (and Novell)."

it has to be said, innocent until proven guilty.

Not really true on all places on earth, not even among those that consider themselves democratic. Most famous counterexample is Britain. The small country of Luxembourg is another counterexample.

No. Ill bite. The parent is spot on. It IS a strangely American attitude. Sure it must hurt to hear this said about America, buts it's damn true. This stuff does happen in the rest of the world but to a far lesser extent. America is the hate capital of the world and this kind of transaction/contract would be ILLEGAL in the more enlightened parts of the globe.
( An agreement to commence or desist other legal
proceedings as part of a contract)

The attitude of sueing your neighbor who's house you just ate dinner at is perculiarly American, It seems that where money is involved morals and ethics just go out the window in America. As if money is more important than ethical existence.

Ironicly America is a very religious country with morality set in the foundations, but the gap between what we are and what we would like to belive we are is growing wider daily.
