How Apple's Mail.app Junk Filter Works

No, it's not an extremely complex set of rules, no it doesn't look for keywords, and no, it doesn't use white magic ... Interestingly enough, the technology that underlies the Junk Mail filter began its life as an information retrieval system.'"

    Actually, Mail.app in Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) has an option in the "Viewing" Preferences: "Display images and embedded objects in HTML messages".

    How did this get modded up? Nearly every mail program has the option to disable HTML.
