AgroWaste Oil Plant Starts Production
An anonymous reader writes "Yahoo, and others has a story about the first Waste-to-Oil plant going online, and selling the oil commercially. Using TCP (Thermal Conversion Process), the plant is producing 100-200 barrels of No. 4 oil a day, and has the capacity to produce up to 500 barrels per day. With the amount of agricultural waste in the U.S., and many more of these plants, we could possibly reduce our need for foreign oil."
I'd expect that around the same time that you lose your virginity, so give them another 20 years.
And that will only happen when the price of oil goes so high we actually have to stop driving our SUVs once in a while.

Who the fuck modded this up to "insightful"? You ever watch a 747 fly, or take the time to calculate how much fuel tanks, helicopters, ships, trucks, trains, etc burn? Makes a few measley gallons for a POV SUV look like a drop...which it is! A Blackhawk helo will burn about $400 worth of JP4 IN AN HOUR. Quit blaming people's cars when the blame should be spread around.
Also do you not think that the efficiency and output of these plants will increase?

Guess what? Last time I looked we lived in a free, capitalistic society, and what someone needs doesn't enter into it. It's what they can afford that counts. Don't like it? Move to somewhere like North Korea where the nice government will make sure you get only what you need.
