First-Ever Private Spaceport Nears Final Approval
bobhagopian writes "According to the article on Space.com, the Federal Aviation Administration is nearing the final stages of certifying the Mojave Airport as the first-ever private spaceport. Both Scaled Composites and XCOR Aerospace (the two leading competitors in the X-Prize competition) currently fly out of Mojave Airport. The approval of a commercial spaceport will certainly facilitate the creation of even more private-sector space technologies."

How about we come up with a cure for -cancer- or hell, AIDS? Even better, you know those millions of people starving on the planet - you know the ones the media reports on when it's a -slow- news day - let's find a way to make their lives better - make the planet better, before throwing money away on frellin' dreams of self-importance. ... Wendy "Darwin" Northcutt has announced that she will be relocating from New York to Mojave in order to be closer to the apparent location featured in many bazaar deaths that have suddenly started being reported in submissions to her well known website.
Dumb ass, this isn't redundant... It was the first Dude where's my car reference in the whole thread. The only funny part of that otherwise horrible movie were the space geeks who worshiped their geek leader "Zoltan".
You mean like the United States of John Ashcroft?
Buttsex.
With the US's current terrorism-mania, you can't have just anyone launching things into space, now can you?
Or are these 'private' space ports closely linked to the US government like Halliburton and co?
