Mozilla 1.8 Alpha Released
AllMightyPaul writes "Last Friday, the Mozilla Organization announced Mozilla 1.8a. You can download Mozilla 1.8 alpha (with torrents available) from the Mozilla public FTP server. Features include a basic upload FTP UI, improved junk mail filtering, and the number of cookies that Mozilla can hold has also increased 'dramatically.' What's amazing is that they haven't even released Mozilla 1.7 yet. Here I thought that Mozilla was going to standardize on 1.7."

GNAA Hierophant Shelby Schoss defended the recent increase in the "Giant Nukular(SIC) Annihilation Armaments" program, which is concerned with arming young and intoxicated members of the GNAA with weapons of mass destruction.
Schoss debunked the worldwide outcry, claiming self defense (though translators have not yet reached accord on exactly what Mr. Schoss is trying to say). "The horrific fustigation of our youth, that is to say, the chrysalis of a new breed of nigger, more homosexual than any before it which faces outright liquification at the hands of an unruly mob of malcontents gushing forth anti-homonegro sentiment, prodded on by the gap-jawed murmurings of the Faulknerian idiot manchildren whosoever thought that they could put one over on the GNAA, AINT HAPPENING TODAY, MOTHERNIGGER."
(Schoss then devolved into rhythmic obscenity for the next 45 minutes, lapsing back into lucidity only after a GNAA member [thought to be Penisbird] on the sidelines threw a bottle at him, striking him in the temple)

Schoss then unveiled a large diagram drawn on a bed sheet with what analysts are euphemistically describing as "gravy". The diagram, while unclear and making numerous threatening references to "CobwoyKneel" seemed to indicate a general plan for the acquisition of immense stockpiles of intercontinental ballistic missiles, prototype aerosol jetstream-distributed biological weapons, as well as a large quantity of portable "suitcase" nukes and knives.
"I would like to direct your collective light cones to this awesome example of the devastation soon to be wrought in our continuing jihad against the forces of racism." Shoss announced, displaying two handheld four bladed knives, which he held aloft before the hushed assembly. "Soon, every gay nigger on earth will have two just like it. You cannot stop us. We have these knives. Death to America. Death to Israel. Allah is great. LOL JEWS" Shoss then collapsed in a frenzy of pelvic thrusting, badly injuring himself and several onlookers.

Probably because nobody cares.
Linux is the only free OS. Yes the BSD lincenses may appear more free, but as they have no restrictions, they are actually less free than the GPL. You see, restricting the end user more actually makes them more free than not putting restrictions on them. You must be a dumb luser for not understanding this. And you obviously dont have a real job. A real job involves being a student or professional academic. You see, academics are the ones who know all about productivity - if you work for a commercial organisation you obviously do not know anything about computers. Usability is stupid. Whats wrong with the command line? If you cant use the command line then you shouldnt be using a computer. vi should be the standard word processor - you are such a luser if you want to use Word. Installing software should have to involve recompiling the kernel of the OS. If you dont know how to do this, you are a stupid luser who should RTFM. Or go to a Linux irc channel or newsgroup. After all, they are soooo friendly. If you dont know how the latest 2.6 kernel scheduling algorithm works then they will tell you to stop wasting their time, but they really are quite supportive. Oh, of course M$ is evil. Take LookOUT for instance. You could just as easily use Eudora. Who needs groupware anyway, a simple email client should be all we use (thats all we use as academics, why cant businesses be any different). And trend setters - Linux is the trend setter. It may appear KDE is a ripoff from XP, but thats because M$ stole the KDE code. We all know they have GPL'ed code hidden in there somewhere (but not the things that dont work, only the things that work could possibly have GPL'ed code in it). And Apple is the suxor because they charge people for their product. We all know that its a much better business model to give all your products away for free. If you charge for anything, then you are allied with M$ and will burn in hell.
When will this legend die? Now that spyware and trojan Mozilla XPIs are floating around the net, I say it's high time you hippies admit defeat. Internet Explorer is now on par with Mozilla's much-vaunted security record. And now with the rock-solid .Net framework keeping the viruses and trojans at bay, poor bloated Mozilla won't have much else to offer. SuXors to be you, Mozilla fanboys.

You know, starting FireFox and Thunderbird takes longer in total than starting Mozilla.
Next time I want to start my browser and email at the exact same time, I'll be sure to remember that.
And together they use more memory than Mozilla does, or at least no less memory.

I think people like to say Mozilla is "bloatware" because it's the trendy thing to do, but I don't think it deserves the title.
No. People call it "bloatware" because it crams/crammed the functionality of half a dozen applications into one. Now I don't notice any difference between the speed of Mozilla's interface or any other Windows Program.
