Slackware Chooses X.org Server Over XFree86
Ananamous Coward writes "Some big distros had already dumped XFree86 for X.org for license reasons, but now Slackware, one of the most classical and stable ones, has announced in its changelog for slackware-current that they are switching to X.org, mostly for compatibility reasons. Looks like X.org is now the future of X for Linux ..."
Listen up you hellbound sodomites!
Why don't you all just get AIDS and die already?
Pray for our glorious leader, George W. Bush... you anti-American communist liberal pieces of shit!
more confusion, just like everything else in linux, which is why it will never be adopted in the mainstream. who the hell wants to spend weeks resolving all sorts of dependencies and incompatibilities?
i've got an idea, actually using a computer to do things, rather than a toy to tinker with! gasp!
No offense to the poster, but I consider Slackware about as dead as XFree86 is considered to now be(or is headed).
X.org may be the future of Linux, but Slackware certainly is not. I abandoned Slackware about 5 years ago and wouldn't dream of using it now. Slackware may demand respect in Linux nostalgia, but it seems to have been left behind by better maintained, more updated, and more innovative distros.
SA even among those wealthy enough to own computers?
Then what the fuck are they installing operating systems on? Their burro?
Connectiva would be more popular than Slackware if you gave computers to the unwashed masses who are not educated enough to speak English and therefore appreciate Slackware.
Great fucking logic there...
That's a pretty good description of the Gentoo forums, actually.
Give Conectiva about two years. That's about how long it seems to take them to release security updates.
Nice poem, faggot.
X.org has lame little dropshadows everywhere. From the same guy that fucked up Xft.
Yes, 2004 is the year of Linux on the desktop. Better change the GUIs to get ready. Just think, in a couple of months time Windows will just disappear and we all will have Linux
And digital cameras will actually work with Linux!
Linux and GUI used in the same sentence is funny!
roflrofllol omg omg roflroflrofl lol omgomg
Linux is the r0x0r and M$ is the sux0r!!!
