Sony VAIO U50 Reviewed In Depth

LabRat007 writes "PDA Buyer's Guide reviews the Sony VAIO U50/U70, the hybrid PC/PDA that has beaten both the FlipStart and OQO to market. The short version? They like it, but it's too expensive. Editor in Chief Lisa Gade provides the typically in-depth review, with pictures and words and everything." The design looks great, but the price -- yow!

Who is going to be the first to complain about linux support or the fact the dirvers are not open source

A 12" Apple Powerbook would perhaps be more useful, and leave plenty of money for ice-cream.
This is so typical. You're comparing two products that are not even in the same universe, you Mac fanatic. That PowerBook (4.6 lbs) is 418% heavier than that Sony PDA(1.2 lbs). Try fitting that PowerBook in your pocket.

If you're going to compare a PDA to a notebook computer, why wouldn't you compare the Sony PDA to a well-regarded ultra-portable like the IBM ThinkPad X Series. It's 41% lighter (2.7 lbs) and $100 less expensive than that PowerBook. Wait, I know why. You're a Mac fanatic.
