Interviewing Your Future Boss?
crimethinker asks: "I am an embedded systems engineer for a small division of a large company. Up to now, we have managed to get by with little more than a 'team lead' position, but as our division grows, they are looking to hire a full-on engineering manager. I was one of the candidates, with my current boss's favorable recommendation, but I withdrew my resume when they told me the job was all paper and schedules; I'd never touch code or hardware again. Now the VP has a 'short list' of candidates, and has invited me to be one of the interviewers. Yes, you read that correctly: I will be interviewing the person who will become my boss. So, I put the question to you, Slashdot: what questions should I ask my prospective boss?"
"How far will raw sex appeal get me? To what extent can I count on this sweet ass to do my job for me?"
Anyone who loves or hates any language, platform, or manufacturer, doesn't know what they're talking about.
And thanks to bosses thoughout the world who do things like you've just suggested, no worker ever wastes weeks, months, or even years implementing stupid half backed shit ideas that could have been corrected and implemented correctly in a shorter amount of time, and with more satisfaction to the workers, the employers, and the customers.

Not as stupid as implying that sportbikers are uniformly stupid... We can play this game all day long, porky.
I never implied that "sportbikers" are uniformly stupid. The great author Hunter S Thompson is a sport bike enthusiast, and quite intelligent, though admittedly burnt out on tons and tons of halucinogenic drugs. However, the trend seems to be towards stupidity. I'll explain. Sport bikes are a status symbol these days. They evoke an image of rebellion, breaking the status-quo, masculinity, etc. At the same time, quite a few "sportbikers" tend to be the opposite of that. They tend to not be rebellious, tend to follow the status-quo. As far as masculinity goes, why would a male, someone who truely is masculine simply by virtue of having a penis, need to evoke such a thing? There are all kinds of psychological theories on this, many site the reason lies in a feeling of inadequacy as a male. Thus, the individual feels as though he needs something to feel more like a man. And, really, what's more phallic than 2000cc's of finely engineered internal combustion insanity between one's legs? Clearly the lack of something in that general region, or at least the lack of any kind of bulk, is being compensated by machinery.
That being said, there are plenty of pragmatic reasons to own a streetbike - traffic avoidance, excellent gas mileage, and, of course, some chicks dig 'em. Unfortunately, when the girl gets off the bike and in the bed, she's in for a big (or should i say, little) suprise.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying you fit this model at all, though having the link to that forum show up...AS YOUR HOMEPAGE ON SLASHDOT seems to scream, "Oh, look at how cool i am!! Yes!! I'm cool, like me!" which, once again, seems to be a symptom of your stupidity.
to sum up: I'm not saying you have a small penis, i'm not saying you tote the line of the normative, and i'm not saying that you fit the model of the stereotypical biker at all. All that i am saying is that you're giving more and more evidence to support the case for your stupity.
