Show Me The Money - Microsoft Money Vs. Quicken
prostoalex writes "The weblog entry 'Show me the money' is an interesting tale of Microsoft Money from a developer who now manages software development in the Tablet PC group at Microsoft. Having worked before with Money, which was assigned a task of beating Quicken, Philip describes the disasters that happen when marketing and advertising people rule the software development: 'Money's success or failure was judged using the same metrics as MSN's websites. Metrics like minutes viewed per month. Like ad revenue. Like click-through. Stickiness. I am not making this up.'"

I don't much care, since neither are available for my chosen platform...

Thanks for that super-informative post.
You're like the kid in the neighborhood who can be outside and play, while all of the other kids are inside practicing the piano. So, you make sure that you play in front of their houses, so they can see what they're missing.
Only, in your neighborhood, there's always a thunderstorm, and your parents won't let you come inside the house.
No reason to lie.
You're right!
Na na na na Naaaaaa! I like the water.... Don't you wish that you were wet all day, too?

does this make anyone else wonder that MS is finally beginning to feel the pinch from all lawsuits and the growing popularity of linux and other OSS products?

I just heard some sad news on talk radio. Actor Marlon Brando was found dead in his Hollywood, California home this morning. "I was shocked and deepy saddened at the loss of the greatest acting genius of our time. What will we do without Marlon in this world?" said his "Godfather" co-star Al Pacino, one of the generation of stars influenced by his work. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American iPod.
Anyone got any insights on web based pfm's?
;)
My wife and I have been looking for a decent solution for a long time but most of the php/perl/... based projects just don't cut it*!

Why was the parent modded down? It seems like everyday I come here there is some form of abuse and censorship that occurs with abusive moderators. This post was a legimatite comment stating the poster's experiences with the software!
