Mozilla/Firefox Bug Allows Arbitrary Program Execution
treefort writes "An article at eWeek has the lowdown. The article also has a link to the bug report which addressed this issue some time ago. Still, I feel safer using Firefox since malicious persons are much more unlikely to target any vulnerabilites. Note that this only affects users of Mozilla and Firefox on Windows XP or Windows 2000." New releases are already available on mozilla.org that fix this. Update: 07/09 00:41 GMT by CN : I removed the bum link to Bugzilla, since I guess they don't like us. Also I discovered that OSDN's own NewsForge has more on the situation.
Welcome to the world of hypocrisy.
I'm some sure yahoo will knock me down for saying this, but it had to be said.
I use IE! 95% better than Firefoz, Safari, and Lynx!

What? What was that??? Did he just validate the fact that IE vulnerabilities are in no small part due to the fact that more people use it and thus target it more??! Could it be that IE and Windows itself are not simply just shoddy products, but are actually under more scrutiny than their nearest competitors despite the fanboy rantings to the contrary????
I know. Mod me strait to hell for stating the obvious ^_^

How does it feel to have your whole pretense fucking collapse around you? To know that no-one will ever pay attention to you just-so stories ever again? Pretty bad I think so I just can't help sending you a bit of schadenfreude.

Fucking noobs. OMG this has just made my day. And the inevitable censorship of this post is going to complete it. Can't handle the truth, eh? ahahahahahahahahahahah OMG bliss.
Everytime a windows vunerability is announced you lunix raving ticks runaround screeming about the evil satanic influences of microsoft's products and now that it's been established your holy grail of browsers is not so holy you dismiss the revelation as unimportant? You people are rich I'll give you that.
...so? MS fixed the flaw in their browser, and others left it in...and this was MS's fault in what way??? Since when is it MS's duty to tell other software houses what to do?? Slashdotters have moaned about MS forcing their ways on others, but now if they don't/didn't, its a bad thing too...(so much for the ms-hater bandwagon opinions huh)

Writing M$ is always a sure sign of maturity. Go back to reading your tentacle porn books, you fucking nerd.
prompt?? 2 years to plug the hole they left in their code is prompt, geeee that sure looks like a double standard...its ok for others to know of a bug and not patch it overnite if not within the hour, but ms is pure evil if they do the same...
