The iPod Gets WiFi, Sort Of

thecounterfeit writes "Engadget has a story on Pocketster Pro, a new application that lets you add WiFi to the iPod. The catch? You have to connect it to a Pocket PC with both USB Host capability and WiFi first, but once it's up and running you can wirelessly swap tunes with any other similarly equipped iPods."

Of December the 24 of 1996, Nicola Salmoria began to work in its single emulators of the hardware (for example Multi-Pac), that he combined in a program during January of 1997. He named the accomplishment by the name of the multiple emulator of the machine of the arches, or SUCKS for the short circuit (pronounced like the word ' maim ' in English, other languages can differentiate). The first official launching era SUCKS 0,1, that was sent in afternoon of the one of February 5 of 1997 (23:32 +0100). Using modular and portable oriented architecture a conductor with an opened philosophy of the source, soon grew in immense proportions. The present version supports 4841 systems of the ROM, 2728 unique games. Because they happen the launchings of SUCK whenever they are ready, in a point the delay between the new versions was almost 4 months. In order to help the agony of the users, a public system beta was used, with a launching beta happening each 2-3 weeks in an average. Nevertheless, now the designation beta has taken off in please a good old version number 0.xx. Also work-in-progresses - the page exists, if you really wish to know the information last. Although IT SUCKS allows that people we even enjoyed the long-lost games of arches and some newer, the main intention of the project is to document the hardware (and the software) of the arches games. There are already many died boards of the arches, that function has been engaged in to the life in SUCKS. The power to play the games is right an pleasant indirect effect. The enormous success of SUCKS would not be possible without the talent of the programmers whom they assembled to the form to equipment of SUCKS. At the moment that, there is near 100 people in the equipment, but there is a great amount of contribuidores outside the equipment also. Nicola Salmoria continues being the coordinator of the project.

Right now, there is no way using "just the functionality of the OS" to swap songs from iPod to iPod.

    You're an idiot.

Brilliant comment, absolutely brilliant. Funniest thing I have come across in many months. BAM, just hits you when you least expect it. Hits the nail on the head, so to speak, as well, in mocking just how eager most people are to get in line and worshop the iPod. It's a bloody mp3 player for chrissakes.
