    Ironic that www.sub300.com and www.sub500.com, the Linux desktop resellers associated with this new store, Run Microsoft Windows 2000 webservers.

      It's not ironic at all. Generally speaking, people who run stores, even computer stores, will lease web hosting from another company. Sometimes it will be Linux-based, sometimes it won't. Even if the store sells Linux computers.

      The people who are running this store probably have other fish to fry (and cars to wash).

      I work for EverythingLinux PTY LTD.

      I did a little database search in our system and we sold the 1456VQH (ISA) a couple years back as our only ISA modem.

      The description for the item said:

      (Not a WinModem)

      Card has Jumpered IRQ's, so you need to use the 'setserial' command to tell Linux what IRQ the card is on.

      This is not to say that we never sold Linux-incompatible hardware. (Thank you for blaming the retailer for lack of drivers for Linux.) On occasion it did happen and caused frustration on our and the customer end.

      Eventually it caused us to change the business strategy and forego any guarantees that items were Linux-compatible.

      We started selling any hardware/software/books, stopped discriminating against Windows users and changed our domain to elx.com.au.

    in june the newthinking store startet in berlin , selling linux-stuff like home entertainment-products running on linux, t-shirts, books, software and several hardware. several events around linux and information society take place in the store rooms.
