PHP Not Moving To The GPL
darthcamaro writes "In an article on InternetNews.com, PHP co-founder Andi Gutmans takes a small shot at RMS (and the FSF), labelling them as fanatics and as not being representative of PHP's user base. 'Most of PHP's user base are people that are using PHP to make a living and they wouldn't care less. "They are just happy that it's a PHP license and they can do whatever they want with it and can ship it with their commercial products," he said.' The comments were made in the context of the recent MySQL LGPL to GPL licesing problem which is what the article is really about. '"We definitely don't see eye to eye on the issue of licensing. He [Richard Stallman] doesn't like our licensing and we know that," Gutmans said. "We're aware of each other, but the PHP project has no intention of moving to some sort of GPL license."'"
I've just signed some legislation which will outlaw PHP forever. Very gay scat fetish party will begin in 5 minutes.

As we all know, finding employment these days doesn't have anything to do with how smart you are or how much you like what you do, it all boils down to the interview, and how much bullshit you can dish out. It also has to do with how much cock you can take 'back there', and this is where an anopractor can help you.
What is an anopractor?
In 1897, BJ Buttfuck discovered that by stretching his anus before an interview, he was able to take three cocks more than before. Since this is a "man do man" world we live in, this immediately led to a promotion and a new horseless carriage. Modern anopractic was born.
The anopractor is a highly skilled professional that can take any anus and make it into an 'employment grade' anus. By manipulating the anus with his hands, the anopractor can make your anus fit a #4 Del Monte pineapple sideways, with the leaves still on!
Nothing beats a stretched anus for any interview situation. When your future employer sees your anus and thinks "What a cum bucket! He's hired!", you'll know that anopractic has helped YOU.
The problem with our dear evangelist Mr Stallman is that his approaches are rooted solely in ideology. It has to be Free, it has to be Unrestricted for Users. He needs to be more pragmatic: there is no one license that fits all projects. He doesn't seem to understand that developers are not likely to go for a license that increases users' rights at the expense of those of developers. The GPL is great an' all, but it's just not close enough to the middle; it is far too grasping in terms of its restrictiveness to developers and distributors. Many don't understand it because it is confusing, also. It's not a simple three point license like the revised BSD license. It's not intuitive like copyright or the BSD licenses. (This is the same problem the Artistic License has.) It's just not practical.
It is nice to see PHP being serious about IT industry. If PHP decides to stay as a hobby language I can't blame them, but if they want to move into the real IT industry, then they should better improve PHP and stay away from fanatics like ESR.

From GPL 2. b):
You call this freedom??
Forbidding users of your program to use it within their code and sell their programs is not about freedom. It's about imposing your worldview on other people.
Ohh and everything on your "BSD'r" machine uses the BSD license? Suuuure...
You sound more like a BS'r then a BSD'r.
- It's not the Macs I hate. It's Digg users. -
It would seem you do have something against the GPL, spreading all of these lies..
I'm not lying, and you've misunderstood my post. I said that the FSF is a movement (it is) and when you choose to transfer rights to the FSF (I never implied that it was mandatory--in fact, I picked my words intentionally indicating that GPL-covered works belong to the copyright holders), that software becomes property of the FSF, for them to use as they see fit.
Moderators should have to take a reading comprehension test.
