So I thought after reading all of this shit on SlashCock, I'd go play with a Linux OS, because apparently it's "better" than Windows. Yea right. What a crock of shit. So I went to www.mandrakesoft.com to download Linux, and surprise surprise, they CHARGE you EUR40 for downloading Mandrake. I thought that shit was meant to be for free. Fucking hypocrites. Anyway, so then I went to Google, and searched with the keywords "Free Linux Distr". So I get a bunch of links, and some of them are also for Mandrake 10. So I go to those sites...and gee there are 3 isos to download for Mandrake, and each one is about 700 MB (i.e. the Install takes 2 FUCKING GB! And windows is worse how?). So I'm like, ok, I have a fast WINDOWS 2K connection, so it shouldn't be too tuff to get my hands on those isos. What a crock of shit. The transfer rate for one of those isos was like 20 Kb/s. So I tried lots of mirrors but no luck. So I went back to google, and came across a site called linuxiso.org. I noticed all the isos were like 2 GBs, except for Knoppix, which had some crap about booting from one CD only. So I donwload the Knoppix iso (on Friday evening and come back Monday Morning). So I take the iso and set it up to run with VMWARE on my Win2K server. I like how they recommend you run Linux with 128 KB RAM....gee and I thought Linux was supposed to be fast. Anyway, finally the OS starts up...and it starts up with some shit called Knoppix User. So if I want to set up the root user, I have to go back to the frikking readmes and that's where it tells me all accounts are 'locked' until you set them up/change the password. Ok, so I manage to open a root user command prompt and change the password. This version of knoppix doesn't seem to have a very good memory, because it didn't store the password I saved. It also froze rwice, causing me to reboot. And don't get me started on having to create more users. Oh yea, Linux is easier to use than Windows, provided you're a gearhead dickwad fundamentalist shit. What a crock of shit. My Win2K Server hasn't ever gone down, and is 100 times easier to use. Want to create users: Control Panel -> Users. Want to sent the time, double click on the clock. What a load of shit. Oh and someone forgot to tell you that Knoppix comes without Pine/Elm. Yea Linux is "EASIER" to use than Windows. Bull-fucking-shit.
