Mini PC Grows Up? Shuttle XPC Reviewed
Bender writes "The Tech Report has done a comprehensive review of the just-redesigned Shuttle XPC. These toaster-sized systems, sold with motherboard but sans CPU, memory, and storage, are becoming a very attractive alternative to the standard DIY system that's over twice the size. This latest PC 'cube' has everything: PCI Express, a BTX-inspired chassis design, room for a small RAID array, and pre-routed cables. The only snag is a Pentium 4 thermal throttling problem discovered through some nice investigative work. If Shuttle can fix this problem, this thing could be a killer personal workstation box."
They were shuttle before the Columbia, and unless you plan on throwing things at your computer at insane speeds, nothing to worry. Oh, and show some respect.

If there are already thermal problems to start of with the box alone, what happens when you pop a Prescott in it? Oops, looks like the toaster is a flame!
Stealthed CD drive looks like a stupid move, despite the writer of the article loving it. You have to freaking wiggle the CD out of there since the drive sits so far back and the case juts out over the tray. Why on Earth would they not use a slot loading drive instead?
Similarly hiding the ports behind a flap is stupid. Gee, let's make these things harder to get to, that's a good improvement! They must have picked the same designers as that toilet looking MP3 player everybody is all about now. Can't play OGG, but looks like a toilet! Buy...stealth is the same sort of designer idiocy.
Just reading the review and they bitch about wanting more overclocking.

These one track mind twats would probably bitch about lack of extreme overclocking on a fucking mobile phone if they reviewed that.
Overclocking is for little children who can't afford to buy the best equipment in the first place.
