    Any chance slashdot might want to inform its paying customers what's been going on the last few days with the 503 errors?

    We'd be raking Microsoft or any other evil corporation if they kept silent like the editors are doing. I like the hypocrisy here.

      You're expecting too much from the Linux cabal who doesn't literally buy into "free as in speech" part of the open source ideology.
      Let's take a look at the Slashdot editors.
      CowboyNeal has an abiding hatred of CmdrTaco and was wrongfully crapflooded by GNAA based upon the assumption that CowboyNeal is marching in lock step with Malda.
      CmdrTaco is an arrogant little boy who would still be bagging groceries if it wasn't for that tattered copy of Phrack, Windows 3.11 for Workgroups and a raging hardon for rough trade. Now he vents his anger at people who disagree with him, viz the review of Fahrenheit 9/11 and the rampant mod-bombing which made a day in Israel look relatively peaceful. Slashdot is not a forum for free ideas or expression but a place where "Me Too!" is the motto.
      Trolling is an expression of freedom of speech. If Malda wasn't so tight about running the Slashdot ship then I'm certain the trolls would eventually pack up and go away because there wouldn't be any reason to troll. Yet he continues to feed them in hopes of dissuading them from contributing like our friend Sheetrock.
      Timothy and Hemos are simply blind worshippers of all things Taco and have no problem marching in lock step with their idol.
      I encourage and beseech you all to troll to the best of your ability here on Slashdot. When's the last time that there's been a submission which has been news for nerds? Does any of this stuff really matter? A bunch of young, disaffected men finding an identity by using an operating system to browse porn and tell dick jokes on IRC?

    Whats the deal with the intermittent 503 errors we've been getting from slashdot for the last 36 hours or so? I'd really like to see a main-page post about it.
