Neverwinter Nights 2 Officially Announced

An anonymous reader writes "Looks like Atari has just announced Neverwinter Nights 2, to be developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the same ex-Black Isle folks who are making Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic 2 in conjunction with BioWare. However, it's 'scheduled for release in 2006', so we've got a while to wait." A post on the Obsidian forums has a single piece of concept art, and it's confirmed that "[Original developers] BioWare will provide tools, technology, and game assets from the original Neverwinter Nights as well as lend creative input and oversight to the development process."

I hear Bill Frist has endorsed Fellow Tenn. Republican James L Hart ;) Those Republicans are hillarious.

On the subject of NWN, I have just finished HOTU and while when I saw the Subject I was quite excited. But, in 2006 I really couldn't care less. Besides the bugs in NWN are a pain in the ass.

At the end of HOTU I had to turn on godmode because of a glitch that didnt end the movie scene in the battle vs. Mephistopholes (or however it is spelled). As a result good ol Mephy would just pound into my character and I could only attack via reflex. Hell of an ending ;)
