Windows XP SP2 Impressions

A roundup of concerns and problems with Windows XP SP2 from the early adopters: Many, many users are reporting problems with SP2 limiting outbound TCP/IP connections. This appears to be nailing anyone who makes heavy network use of their machine, including especially users running P2P applications. A Microsoft blog rounds up some reports, as does SANS. Microsoft has objected to people helping them distribute SP2.

    Sooner or later you guys need to grow up. Suggestions:

    1) Replace the broken windows icons with something more professional.
    2) Create a Windows catagory.

    Seriously, its getting tiresome.

      It's called "professionalism" Look it up.

      You might want to apply that to your future posts as well. That is if you want anyone to take anything you say seriously and not just pass you off as the immature jackass you display yourself to be in your post. But that's your call.

    It's more fun putting my foot up your ass, Anonymous innumerate Coward. You won the cointoss with SP2, and it installed properly on your (probably identical) PCs. The actual numbers, pulled out of the BBC:

    "Although 43% said the SP2 installation had gone without a hitch, 49% of those contributing had problems ranging from minor to severe."

    " 30% of those responding, said they had minor problems such as clashes with non-Microsoft browsers or applications"

    I note that your slavish devotion to Windows is consistent with your inability to understand how your personal experience relates to the statistical description of the entire population, of which you, Anonymous Coward, are a miniscule, not to mention insignificant, part.
