Ebay Buys Into Craiglist

unboring writes "The news out today morning is that eBay has bought a minority stake in Craigslist. Here's Craig's take on the whole issue. For those unaware of Craigslist, it was launched by Craig Newmark in 1995 in San Francisco, and is an online network of classified ads and forums aimed at people looking to find an apartment rental, meet friends or trade goods. For those unaware of eBay, get out from under that rock! Google news stories for your convenience here. So will Craigslist now become more corporate/evil? Personally, I've benefited a lot from Craigslist classifieds and I hope it doesn't lose its attitude."

    "benefitted" you mean "found a guy willing to give you a free blowjob" and by "lose its attitude" you mean "ban such ads"... then I'm sorry.

    I wrote that comment all seriousness. I've posted several craigslist ads, and met more than one girl whom I've slept with.

    I'll post anonymously because I'm fully aware it sounds shallow - but my experience (and the experience of friends who've also done Craigslist) is that women on Craigslist are all incredibly fat. Personally I think fat is disgusting, and fat people are of weak character or they would just eat less (or possibly, they don't have a problem with being obese).

    Living near SF, I've heard the Craigslist has nearly killed the homosexual bar hook-up scene - anonymous sexual encounters are almost all arranged over Craigslist (a friend who's a fag borrowed my computer once and hooked up sex in approximately 3 minutes - I briefly considered switching teams).
