DVD Player Maker's Margins just $1

callipygian-showsyst writes "This news.com story tells how Chinese DVD player manufacturers are only making $1 margins per player! The story says that 'Commoditization is hitting China's DVD player manufacturers hard, according to researcher iSuppli, Between January and May, the average selling price of a DVD player exported out of the Guangdong province came to $40.80, leaving just about $1 in profit margins for the manufacturers.' You wonder if other business, like low-end PCs hardware, are in similar trouble."

    Typical Americans. They can't get free health care, so they fake injuries whilst getting cheap DVD players from Wal-Mart. WAL-MART. WAL-MART!!

    I'd like you all to vote for John Kerry. He'll set this country back in the right direction.

    I'm having a big problem with that! In fact, I had to place a drip-pan under my capacitors to catch all the leaking!

    Of course, that's nothing comparied to the floods that people get when their new 2.5 GHz G5sstart to leak.

    Apple: software will be essentially free, hardware will pay the bills.

    Maybe you meant

    Apple: Nothing is free, hardware will pay the bills, and we will gouge you on every little update to the OS every few months.

    What sense of humor do the moderators actually have in this place? I mean we've seen that very same formula of a joke repeated in nearly every discussion here involving anyone mentioning hygiene articles or women.

    Exactly what makes it funny? Haven't we seen it enough already? (yes it was funny the FIRST time, less funny the second time, not funny the third time etc. etc.)

    Even worse are people responding to these crap jokes trying to keep the fun going by coming up with their own witty, so they think, replies. I'm pretty sure someone's gonna come up with some kind of cute reply to this post as well... Probably something involving hygiene articles, women, or my grammar.
