If you can't get over the infantile attitude of "oh no a curse" then you shouldn't read what's posted on the Internet (or elsewhere). I speak here how I would at any other time (obvious exceptions include obituaries and court appearances).
When put through a hyperbole filter, Slashdot as of late has been like this:

So you find it unnecessary to curse while writing descriptions of a dead lumps of meat and bones but must curse in conversations with your peers?
What's the deal with court appearances? Why the special behaviour there? It could get you in trouble if the judge found out that you were a fraud.

because one day, when Linux is as widely used in office enviornments as Windows, there will be a need to for a stricter "chain of command". This will be required simply because businesses have much more at stake than the average geek developer who uses linux on a daily basis. Like it or not, the fact remains that Microsoft is a bu$$ine$$ first, and everything else comes as a distant second.
