Semper WiFi
Roblimo writes "Armed Forces personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan increasingly use the Internet to communicate with their familes back home, but there are not nearly enough computers and connections for them. Lt. Phillip Geiger, Medical Officer with the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, suggested using a privately-funded, long-range WiFi network to help troops stay in touch. The idea has grown from there, all funded privately with cash and equipment donations. Joe Barr has the details on NewsForge (which, like Slashdot, is part of OSTG)."
How about saving up money to help rebuild Iraq's infrastructure, before we start wiring up luxuries for the inva^H^H^H^H^H liberating forces? I'm not trolling, I just wonder why we're not concentrating on why we're there in the first place...
Amazing, you have taken this from a topic about a 19 year old boy or girl at the other side of the world missing his/her mother and wanting to keep her up to date and how this is done to a world scale political discussion.
You truly are, very much so, an idiot.
And no, I am not an American.

Iraq wasn't a threat. It is the truth... (no WMD)
:
Iraq wasn't behind 9/11. It is the truth... (but Saudy Arabia, Afganisthan, Yemen...)
Some people are doing an awful lot of money from this war... It is the truth (see the recent problem with Halliburton)
Therefore, we have the right to ask
"Why are our children dying there ?"
Where is the troll ?
Nothing to argue, nothing to discuss.
heh. not my tax dollars. Most of us in the great white north don't believe fighting in illegal wars ;)
Don't feed this troll. S/he will probably vote for Senator Kerry, who also volunteered to go to Vietnam, and killed people. Meanwhile, s/he will criticize President Bush because he signed up for the national guard, which can be drafted into foreign action at any time. In addition, it was the air guard, which is a high risk occupation even in peacetime due to the unfortunate laws of gravitation.
