NASA Helps Clearing The Fog
Roland Piquepaille writes "NASA's Aviation Safety and Security Program wants to cut fatal accident rates by 80 percent over the next ten years. To reach this goal, NASA researchers used "tunnel-in-the-sky" synthetic vision systems (SVS) in recent flights on a Gulfstream V over Reno, Nevada. A guest pilot for Aviation Week & Space Technology (AWST) went onboard and writes that 'NASA Team Brings Synthetic Vision to Maturity.' He was able to see that SVS concepts, such as voice-controlled synthetic vision displays, a runway incursion protection system, database integrity monitoring technology, and enhanced vision sensors meshed with SVS images, were really effective in eliminating low-visibility-induced accidents. However, NASA doesn't say anything about the availability of SVS for commercial airlines. This summary contains more details and illustrations about key SVS concepts."

Roland Piquepaille Blog spammer, plaigarist
Mod this guy up. Radio Userland, the site that hosts RP's blog, is never down and can withstand slashdotting just fine. How is this repost useful?
Because Roland is a nasty spammer whose "blog" rips of other people's work. It should be clear that Roland's end goal is not to share information, but to PLAGIARISE information from other sources, then pretend it's his own and lure people to his weblog just to generate a constant stream of visitors to rack up the money he makes in advertising. Roland is almost on the same level of annoyingness as e-mail spammers.
At least the repost will btie into his advertisement scheme. Free info for us, no money for that greedy cheating bastard.
Hate me!
hey look! I dont have to click on a link. thats so grand!
Ok, who are tyhe mods responsable for making that a 3?! I would understand that if the article was on a site requiring some kind of subscription, but its not.
Apparently, reading what Dark Lord Seth responded, some people here hold a grudge against Roland Piquepaille and post his blog article here so Slashdot readers won't click through the link in the blurb, visit RP's blog and generate ad revenue for him.
Rather puerile reaction if you ask me, but there you have it...
