Portable Storage?
An anonymous reader asks: "I need a portable storage solution, as I strongly desire to keep my personal stuff separate from my work stuff. In the past I have used some types of portable external hard drive (via USB connection), but I wasn't too pleased with the quality of the barebones models I found at Fry's. With so many new types of portable storage out (USB keys, 2.5" drives, full drives with enclosures, etc) I would appreciate some feedback from others using this type of device regarding what their favorite brand or model is. Remember: bigger storage is better, as is smaller size."
is that your final answer?
mod parent informative because he mentioned iPod...
Dude!! Can I invite you to my next party?!?
Hey, I'm in Staten Island and curious about this NYMPHS thing, which sounds like it'd be a good bit more active (and less rigid) than NYLUG. Are you guys still recruiting? :)

What better portable storage can there possibly be than a personal assistant? Their storage capacity is unmeasured, but potentially immense. A lot of this is accomplished using advanced compression algorithms that translate perceptions into approximated symbolic information. The potential is unlimited!
There are some drawbacks though. Writes occasionally fail, and reads become more difficult as time progresses. Also, although they can move under their own power, if you still need a smaller model you'll have to do some searching. Children are fairly portable, but writes fail at an alarming rate. Midgits will have a better memory, but they're harder to find.
Oh, and avoid the politician type completely. Their memory can be changed by anybody that pays them enough.
