Ars Electronica started in 1979 as a small group of nerds that came togheter to produce cyberarts, digital avant-garde media, digital electronic music and more. Now 25 years later you can experiment with all kinds of new technologies such as walk the internet with SevenMileBoots, interactive plant growing, tracing communications, Pixelspaces, ...       Unfortunately the Ars Electronica site is rather complex :/ For those who weren't able to find out (it's a lot of clicking), the Prix Ars Electronica, which is awarded in six different categories, is worth 5.000 Euros. Winners this year are:

      Many of the installations sent in for the Prix are exhibited in the OK museum in Linz as well as the Ars Electronica Center.

    All the time slashdot has these stories "I'm here at the whatever convention..." and there's never any announcement before-hand that it's going on.

    Surely announcing this kind of stuff is just as news-for-nerd-worthy as what's on the next episode of cowboy bebop or whatever it is
