Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence in Theaters
Lord Prox writes "The long wait is over, the sequel to Ghost In The Shell is here in theaters!. Titled Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence for the US market and seems to be available in a reasonably wide distribution for anime. There is also a trailer available."
Jesus. This sounds like every other crap anime out there. For some bloody reason Japanese animators think that throwing non-sequitor quotes from literary sources, or original nonsensical quotes makes for more intelligent dialogue. Typical example:
Female warrior contemplates the existential meaning of life. Her voice over blathers something about "life is ephemeral and I need to be like a cherryblossom!" while the screen pans across well-drawn scenery.
Laine, as cool as the art and some story elements are is another example of good art made cheese because of the storyteller's inability to articulate. I've really become disappointed in anime in general. There's too few good story-tellers out there.
