Is That Pirated Software?
underpar writes "According to this ZDNet.com article, Microsoft 'has launched a pilot program in which some visitors to the main Windows download page are being asked to let the software maker check to see whether their copy of the operating system is licensed.' The check is not required, but after the desired 20,000 users go through the program they might change their tune."
Fuck you!
Fuck freebird!
You sir are a royal idiot.
Not one word in your entire gibba jabba did you put any blame on pirates who leech off other people's work. Not once. Instead you point the fingers at the company that's being victimized and blame all of the inconveniences on them. Just great. Another Einstein in the making.
I just walked past a copy of WinXP Home Edition in a "Bargain Bin" at Costco [costco.com], on sale for $299 CAD
Get real. I don't know what you mean by CAD, but it sure as fuck isn't Canadian dollars. XP Home retails for $140-160 tops here, and it sure as hell isn't running $300 at Costco.
Your problem is, you're a fucking moron that can't bend your puny human brain around the fact that some companies simply don't give a fuck about your stupid goddamned jerkoff software utopia and actually try to MAKE MONEY by selling software. I'm sorry, but developing commercial software costs money. Get the fuck over it, pull your head out of your ass, and join us here in the real world where nobody gives a shit about your social retardation-fueled emphasis on software freedom and all anyone REALLY gives a fuck about is emailing their friends and playing solitaire.

When you're going to die because you can't pirate software, you MIGHT have a point. Until that time, shut the fuck up you goddamned moron.

Uhhh...yeah. Their $50 billion in cash sure proves they don't know shit about economics - doesn't it?
Seems you have no fucking clue that MS doesn't care what your opinion of price elasticity is. They care a lot more about the market's opinion. And I'd say the market is speaking pretty well to them. A helluva lot better than to you (or me).
Maybe you should fuck off until you learn a better argument. What you're saying basically boils down to "M$ is a bunch of mean doodie-heads." That wasn't convincing in the third grade and it's even more fucking lame now.

You are a fucking idiot. Basic economics don't apply to monopolies. Court convicted or not, MS is a monopoly. Go to any electronics store and tell me otherwise. Is it a product of their success, yes. Is it good, no. Should it be allowed to stay a monopoly, no.
It's not illegal as long as you also buy hardware from them, even if it's a tiny cheap piece of hardware.
