Yahoo Plans Its Own Music Player, Download Service
iPod writes "Since late last year, Yahoo has been developing its own music player software, which will be underpinned by a subscription and download service provided by MusicNet, sources familiar with the plan said. Yahoo is developing its own music player software, backed by MusicNet-provided downloads and subscriptions, that it plans to run alongside the recently purchased Musicmatch."
There is a really nice site out there that offers movies, TV shows, music, games, and even software, all absolutely FREE! Excellent bandwidth also!

OK, let me go forth here and say that, personally, I am fed up of Free* spam. I'm sure I'm not alone here, as other posters have already complained about it in other threads. (For those who haven't figured it out, the submitter's URL redirects to freeipods.com with his referral code.)
I hope the Slashdot editors do something about such spam. Or will they follow the path of hypocrisy and claim ``it's not spam'' just because slashbots are doing it? Kinda like how slashbots love to hate the MPAA but are first in line to buy Star Wars or Lord of the Rings products when they come out.

Bob Weir was quoted as saying that every live Grateful Dead recording every put on tape (bootlegs or commercially released) will be released via itunes.
Man, this will rock, but I can't seem to dig up any info post-April on this.
Anyone hear anything about this?
