11,000 Words on the Star Wars Trilogy DVDs

Written by ten people and weighing in at over 11,000 words, it's probably the net's most thorough, extensive review of not only the DVDs, but Star Wars's impact on sci-fi and filmmaking in general. And as one of the contributors, I think that's a good thing."

has a sweet taste that the protected will never know.
It seems every time the trilogy is mentioned lately, somebody gripes about the "originals" being unavailable.
So just a reminder, if you look for it you can find a torrent of the "original" trilogy ripped from laserdisc to a DVD format. One DVD per movie. They have menus and everything.
And yes, I know you can't actually BUY them that way. I'll leave the piracy flamewars to other folks.

I will never watch Star Wars again. I used to be a big fan of Star Wars. I collected the books, watched the movies many many times, joined the fan club, read fan-zines, had lots and lots of apperal. Then one day a very starnge thing happened to me. I saw Episode 1. Confused and yet calm I decided I would watch one more time just to make sure and to confirm my decision. I was right Lucus has gone nuts. I quickly burned all of my Star Wars gear, and complained endlessly about how bad the movie was. So pissed was I that I refuse to watch Episode II or III. Why? Jar-Jar Binks. I've seen breif glimpse of Episode II one in awhile I'll have flipped through a channel and seen it watch in breif curiosity realize how bad the acting was. Now I realize how influential Star Wars was to sci-fi. I know that. But you can not tell me that 1) Episode 1 was good in any shape or form 2) Episode 2 is worth watching 3) Episode 3 will be better Cause I really don't believe you.
