11,000 Words on the Star Wars Trilogy DVDs
The Barking Dog writes "On Monday, September 27th DVD Verdict posted a bantha-sized review of the Star Wars Trilogy. Written by ten people and weighing in at over 11,000 words, it's probably the net's most thorough, extensive review of not only the DVDs, but Star Wars's impact on sci-fi and filmmaking in general. And as one of the contributors, I think that's a good thing."

"Fundamentalism" isn't about divine morality. It's about human authority.
tinfoil alert!
>The fundamental story is about the greater battle of good versus evil.
This is a heroic tale, in which we are made to feel happy that some hero will come along and save us. It is a feel good tale encouraging inaction, a very popular genre in America, amongst both the rightwing religious nutcases (ie, Republicans) and the leftwing socialist nutcases (ie, Democrats).
It is propaganda that helps the ongoing dismantling of our rights, in favor of the ongoing growth of big government.
He used the force, dumbass.
It's not too late! These are not the Star Wars films -- although, they are similar. The Star Wars films were released "for the last time" in the familiar black box on VHS. Do not buy these! Use the internet to find the laser disc release. They provide a very DVD experience -- and can be found in a friendly downloadable DVD format that plays in your real life player. Fuck Lucas. Boycott.

Seems to me the last good movie in the franchise was Empire Strikes Back. That was in what, 1980? That being the case, why do people still live and die by the series?
This phenomenon is even more extreme than the Trek-worship thing. Trek's overall quality level is far higher than that of Star Wars. And, uhhhh... that's saying something.
