Wireless Gaming Getting Serious
pillageplunder writes "Businessweek talks about Jamdat Mobile and its upcoming IPO. It also goes a little in-depth about the U.S. Wireless Mobile Gaming market as a whole. Estimates (From the article) show that by 2004, the industry should more than double, from 91.3 million in 2003 to 203.8 million in 2004 and even as high as 1.8 billion by 2009. Hmmm...perhaps a new career?"
Wow! A dupe of yesterday's Nintendo DS wireless gaming story without actually using the word Nintendo. Kudos to the editors.
What protocol are they using? "Wireless gaming" sounds like a pretty ambiguous term; they seem to be talking about mobile devices connected to a multiplayer network. While this seems like a neat idea, it is questionable how much people are willing and able to pay for it...

I remember about 3-4 years ago a friend of mine(xunil) had a non-color screen cell phone. It had some multiplayer game on it, some RPG. Remembering back, it was an all-text game, but it was interesting to say the least.
Just the other day I downloaded a stripped down version of Gauntlet. A bit hard to play on the keypad, but cool nonetheless.
