Wow, welcome to almost a year ago. Hell, the game was PLAYABLE at E3, which was back in May.

All kidding aside, it would be nice if the original poster had read the article, which focused on the confirmed DETAILS about the game, not the game itself.

There's even a demo included with this month's issue of Official US Playstation Magazine. Not that anyone noticed, since the Metal Gear Solid 3 demo is on the same disc.

Ooh, I've been waiting for that one, even though I'm expecting the same demo from E3 on that as well (which I can't complain about, as there was a decent amount of stuff to fool around with).

      Has that hit newsstands yet?

That story was light on information about the game. Does anyone know more?

In the article there was a link to the official game website:

      http://www.ghostintheshell-thegame.com/

The site has a slick but overproduced flash presentation of the game that includes gameplay clips. Essentially it appears to be a 3D platformer with plenty of running, jumping, shooting, and hand-to-hand combat. Throw in some slo-mo Matrix style camera action for good measure too.

As with all games of this type, it may *look* cool (and it does), but the control scheme is everything. Until it's actually released and we can get some hands on reviews, it's impossible to say whether this will be worth buying...

The current edition of PLAY magazine has a pretty in depth article on the game, and the GITS movie. Pretty good read actually...

The game came out a while ago in Japan. All that's new is that it'll be translated and sold in the US market. That's not a huge surprise.

I think it may be the same translator for both the tv series and the game. Or rather I know the guy doing the translations, and he is doing both.

  7. Why the Nintendo Dual Suck will Suck by Anonymous Coward · · Score: 0

I laugh at all these raving fanboys thinking the DualSuck is the 2nd coming. No-one (apart from children 8-12) in the general public knows or even cares about the insignificant DS. It is hardly 'innovative' but it will sell well to small children, and adults who have a hard time letting go of Mario and moving up to real gaming.

On the other hand the millions of Playstation owners know about the PSP and will get one as their incomes are more than asking Mommy and Daddy for a Pokemon machine for Xmas.

Outside of games.slashdot.org the DS is not even on the radar, partly due to the childish image of Nintendo and its range of homosexual characters.
