Another Hotspot Redirect Patent Collection Attempt

Glenn Fleishman writes "Acacia Technologies is turning its sights from collecting streaming media patent fees to Wi-Fi hotspot gateway redirection, we report at Wi-Fi Networking News. The company acquired a patent that they say covers the use of technology that redirects a login attempt by an unauthenticated user to a login gateway page. They want a minimum of $1,000 per quarter in royalties. Nomadix already claims a patent on this, while we quote an early Wayport executive who says that Wayport has prior art on it. Will community hotspots using NoCatAuth fall under this patent-enforcement attempt? Too early to tell."

While I can't picture Bush doing anything about the patent problems if he gets elected, I don't think that Kerry will deal with it if he gets elected either since he'll have to take care of Iraq, universal health care, social security, etc... Not to mention that the lawyers are his biggest supporters are lawyers that benifit from the lawsuits.

    But mostly Bush's.

Anybody with an IQ above room temperature will finally get that Bush has nothing to do with running the country, that its actually Cheney.

And it will finally dawn on people that Cheney is primarily directing our country in a direction to maximize his company's profit.

It could be the most corrupt thing that's happened in US history. And that's saying something.
