China Rewards Porn Snitches
MinimeMongo writes that the "Associated Press reports that China's police ministry on Sunday handed out rewards of up to $240 to people who reported pornographic Web sites in a campaign to stamp out online smut...The online crackdown is part of a sweeping official morality campaign launched this year on orders from communist leaders."
Report: Christopher Reeve is dead
I just saw some sad news on Drudge Report - Sci Fi star Christopher Reeve was found dead in his home this morning. There weren't any more details. I'm sure everyone in the Slashdot community will miss him - even if you didn't enjoy his work, there's no denying his contributions to popular culture. Truly an American icon.
My Slashdot "fortune", at the bottom right of the page with your post, says:
"One size fits all": Doesn't fit anyone.
We're not going to get boringly competent presidents until we remove the campaign bribes^Wfunding and media personality cults^W^Wbubbles from the critical path to elections. Remember that the November ballot is effectively a binary choice, for better or worse. Abstaining, or voting for a certain-to-lose candidate, means tacitly accepting whichever crook the rest of the electorate chooses for you. Personally, I prefer to at least make my own mistakes - it's less humiliating than being done in by millions of strangers. Hold your nose and vote for one of these two crooks; you're going to get one of them, so you might as well at least mitigate the damage a little.
BTW, vote for Kerry. Bush is a lot worse, as is abundantly clear, and will become too painful to bear without the bait of reelection dangling before him.

Slashdot is a respectable news site? LOL!
You cry for censorship. How unsurprising of you.
And in related news, Australia's newly-re-elected federal government looks set to enter in to cosy deals with the right wing Family First Party in order to get some of John Howard's pet reforms through the Senate. (Family First could hold the balance of power in the Senate)
This effectively means that the Great Firewall of Australia could almost be a reality. Even scarier is that one of Howard's pet reforms is the full privatisation of the national telco/isp Telstra. Family First acknowledge that most small ISP's will go out of business with the Great Firewall of Australia, and a privatised Telstra would welcome the reduction in competition.
Hey you may be interested in crapflooding the following blog, this guy is hilarious. He still uses words like "nutsack" -
I just heard some sad news on talk radio - actor Christopher Reeve was found dead in his New York home last night. There weren't any more details. You forgot to replace Rob with Chris several times in this recycled troll.
The simularitys between US and Islamic states is amasing.
Both hate sex, both love guns.
Both have relougus fantics as leaders.
It is a slippery slope. First you decide you don't want us looking at child porn. Then it's regular porn. Then it's anime that might contain nudity. Then it's all anime. Then it's cartoons. Then it's DVDs from Asia. Then it's all DVDs. Then it's movies. Then it's TV. Then it's radio. Then it's newspapers. Then it's freedom of speech.
You obviously haven't been paying attention to the Bush Regime... you should have put the last statement first. It would have saved you some typing.
