Mt. St. Helens Magma Reaches Surface

daquake writes "Volcanic rock has flowed to the surface of Mount St. Helens' crater, creating a new lava dome after weeks of seismic activity, the bulge had risen at least 330 feet since scientists noticed it September 30. Geologists said there is still a chance of explosive ash eruptions from the 8,364-foot mountain, and the immediate area around the volcano remained closed."

    Dan Rather was still typing up the documents from the USGS. There still needs to be a slant against GWB in this before St. Helens goes kaboom.

    I just wonder why the government doesn't do something about this???

    They could easily of dropped a few bunker busters onthe sucker a while ago or even now. Poke a hole in that sucker and let out some pressure. But no everyone just stands back and waits to watch it blow, like we are powerless.

    It will then level everything around it. Dump million of tons of ash that cost billions to clean up n fix.

    Just sink a missile in that sucker and vent it.
