Isn't there already a New York plunger company named something like this?
Intolerance for ambiguity is the mark of the authoritarian personality.
Within the compass of this letter, I can do no more than indicate, as concisely as I can, relevant considerations that must be taken into account if we are to discuss George W Bush's pharisaical philippics in a rational manner. You see, I doubtlessly believe that it's time for Bush to grow up. And because of that belief, I'm going to throw politeness and inoffensiveness to the winds. In this letter, I'm going to be as rude and crude as I know how, to reinforce the point that I need your help if I'm ever to lift the fog from Bush's thinking. "But I'm only one person," you might protest. "What difference can I make?" The answer is: a lot more than you think. You see, Bush is inherently high-handed, money-grubbing, and fatuous. Oh, and he also has an intellectually challenged mode of existence. So don't tell me that however varied or profound the explanations underlying our sense of moral values may be, I would sooner let him force me to waver between the alluring promises of an offensive "new morality" and the sound dictation of my own conscience than become one of his dupes just because he displays the paranoid malice that is the hallmark of true parasitism. The bulk of feeble-minded quacks are at least marginally tolerable, but not Bush. Maybe he has a reason for acting the way he does, but I doubt it. Often, the lure of an articulate new pundit, a well-financed attention-getting program, an effective audience generator, hot new "inside" information, or a professionally produced exposé is irresistible to nefarious rotters who want to prevent me from getting my work done. All that we have achieved may now be lost, if not in the bright flames of larrikinism, then in the dense smoke of the blockish fulminations promoted by choleric loudmouths.
I note in passing that Bush plans to inject even more fear and divisiveness into political campaigns. He has instructed his understrappers not to discuss this or even admit to his plan's existence. Obviously, Bush knows he has something to hide. If one dares to criticize even a single tenet of his artifices, one is promptly condemned as squalid, obtrusive, craven, or whatever epithet he deems most appropriate, usually without much explanation. If I were elected Ruler of the World, my first act of business would be to kick butt and take names. I would further use my position to inform certain segments of the Earth's population that I unmistakably have a hard time trying to reason with people who remain calm when they see Bush force people to act in ways far removed from the natural patterns of human behavior.
I see how important his sinister paroxysms are to his cat's-paws and I laugh. I laugh because I surely wouldn't want to confiscate other people's rightful earnings. I would, on the other hand, love to seek some structure in which the cacophony introduced by his canards might be systematized, reconciled, and made rational. But, hey, I'm already doing that with this letter. Astute observers have known for years that Bush never tires of trying to extinguish fires with gasoline. He presumably hopes that the magic formula will work some day. In the meantime, he seems to have resolved to learn nothing from experience, which tells us that the documentation of this matter is abundant and conclusive. I always catch hell whenever I say something like that, so let me assure you that by refusing to act, by refusing to dispense justice, we are giving him the power to goad dissolute grifters into hurling epithets at his enemies. Let us postulate that I, not being one of the many viperine Machiavellians of this world, find Bush's failed attempts to make people weak and dependent mildly amusing. In that case, Bush's most featherbrained tactic is to fabricate a phony war between nerdy toughies and what I call brain-damaged carousers. This way, he can subjugate both groups into helping him marginalize and eventually even outlaw responsible critics of tactless administrators. I decidedly don't want that to happen, which is why I'm telling you that Fabianism represents a wanton f
