  1. ROB MALDA QUITS, COMES OUT GAY by Anonymous Coward · · Score: -1, Offtopic

With his wife standing by his side, Rob Malda spoke in calm tones as he described his struggle with his sexuality, "a certain sense that separated me from others." It was something that he said began as a child.

"At a point in every person's life, one has to look deeply into the mirror of one's soul and decide one's unique truth in the world, not as we may want to see it or hope to see it, but as it is," Malda said.

"And so, my truth is that I am a gay American," the Slashdot Editor said.

Malda's surprise resignation came as Micheal Simms, a co-worker of Malda, had readied a sexual harassment lawsuit against the /. editor, two sources have told GNAA.

A third source, who had spoken throughout the day with a top aide to the editor, told GNAA it is unclear whether Simms will proceed with the lawsuit now that Malda has announced his resignation.

GNAA has made repeated attempts to reach Simms for comment.

Speaking at a packed news conference in Malda's basement in Maine, Malda admitted to an affair with a man and asked for his family's forgiveness.

"It was wrong. It was foolish. It was inexcusable," he said.

And Malda said he was stepping down from the Slashdot's highest position.

"Given the circumstances surrounding the affair and its likely impact upon my family and my ability to posts duplicate postings, I have decided the right course of action is to resign," Malda said.

Sony's Planetside massively multiplayer online first-person shooter gets giant robots (aka: BFRs - Battle Frame Robotics) on Monday the 18th!

The content has already been pushed down to users (you can try them out in the VR "training" area), we're just waiting for them to flip the switch on Monday - and they go live.
