bfl writes "The BBC is running a story about Lowry Digital Images and how they used 600 dual G5s and 400 TB of storage space to clean the dirt off of the old Star Wars reels, and upgrade the resolution to get them ready for their DVD release."

    Well, this is what Macs are good, to clean old crap. The new Star Wars are made with AMD Opteron machines.

    Maybe in 25 years some use is found again for Crap. I mean Mac.

    I love Apple and I love the spirit of competittion, I have been a Mac user much of my life. But why are Macs always treated like the retarded child of the computer industry?
    That's because Macs ARE the retarded child of the computer industry. They are marketed at computer illeterati who are so glad they suddenly "can" use something as complex as a computer that they don't see how much they are ripped-off and overcharged by Apple.

    because it still looks like Greedo shoots first. Someone really needs to take the original films and clean up the scenes which Lucas has mucked around with so that a decent looking film can be created - of course to be distributed on everyone's favorite sharing app or newsgroups. Lucas might have been a genius at one time but its hard to see that after watching him be so arrogant as to not bother releasing a DVD with both versions so as to appeal to the fan who wants to see the movie as they saw it in the theatres.

    My favourite browser Konqueror renders Slashdot correctly, proving one more time the superior rendering capabilities of KHTML and its technical dominance over IE and Gecko.

    Then how in the fuck can you get all high and mighty and claim that you have "one of each?" The whole world isn't just PC and not-PC. If you are really a technology enthusiast, you should be careful how you invoke phrases like that when trying to belittle another technology enthusiast. :)

    BTW, Vaxen are 32 bit systems. They were the replacement for the 16 bit PDP-11 line, and predated the 64 bit Alpha line. VMS is the most common OS for Vaxen. And no, you can't have mine. I've only got the one, and it isn't fully working yet. Hooray for dumpster diving for technology.

    Now, if you will excuse me, I'm going to get back to trying to build a Canadian-Cross compiler on my iBook, for my SGI, to output code for my Dreamcast.
