Linus on All Sorts of Stuff
Linux Times.Net writes "
Linus Torvalds
tells of some other programming venues than the Linux kernel, predicts a shadowy outcome for GNU/Hurd, gives some advice to anyone wanting to undertake a large software project and updates us on the latest in kernel development in this email interview by Preston St. Pierre. "

Linux Times.net? I looked over their site, and most of it seems to be some /. stories and stuff about a few different topics.....I'm not trying to knock them, but I've never heard of them. Are they new 'round these parts?

Of course, if you had read TFA, you'd have realized that he doesn't like doing that. He likes being close to the hardware, and doing development tool type stuff. Serious UI's are usually way removed from that level of development.
My blog. Good stuff (when I remember to update it). Read it.
Sometimes I give them a quick checking over the first time, then want to go back and find them again to bookmark them if I think I'll find them interesting in future.

Sometimes I'm amazed as what passes for news, especially when it comes to Linux "celebrities".
Linux took a shit, then he told someone that his project was better than a competing project, then he ate a sandwich...
Damn, now that is stuff that matters!

How could I possibly get bad karma from a site that even has the word BARBARELLA on the page?
Meanwhile... other cheerleaders have to resort to heart-attack-inducing monkey-boy dancing. Its a shame they can't get the same reaction from a simple dialog.
Would it be possible to provide a mirror lasting for a few days for slashdot links (at least the page where direct links are referring to) so that all the interesting sites would not get as /. affected as they always do? Don't know about legal side tho, but people already post quotations of link contents so would it be that bad if "whole page quotation" was the default approach? (maybe text only etc.)
Sure, goatse probably started as some deranged foray into gay pornography. But it's transcended its roots. Goatse now belongs to the ages. As a nerd, I am strongly offended Bess would characterize goatse as "gay porno" rather than the more appropriate "proscribed political speech".
